Indoor Air Quality Services

Your home’s indoor air quality (IAQ) is important to your family’s health.

Because we keep our homes closed up most of the year, our home’s air quality can be questionable. If you’re wondering about yours, Guy’s Heating & Cooling offers IAQ checks for your home as an add-on to our semi-annual maintenance service or as a stand-alone offering.

Why Is Indoor Air Quality a Concern?

As homes become more energy-efficient, there is less fresh air in our homes because they’re sealed tight. Anytime we make a home improvement, like painting, new flooring, or even new furniture, we’re negatively impacting our home’s air quality. Damage like a roof leak or burst pipe can lead to mold or mildew growth. All of these things can cause health issues and trigger asthma or allergic reactions. One way to help your family stay healthy and avoid big health issues is to have clean air in your home.

How Can You Improve IAQ?

There are a few ways to keep your home’s air quality high. One is to change your filters regularly. This will help avoid dust and buildup in your vents. A second way is to have your vents cleaned every few years (more often if you have pets). Perhaps the most important way to keep your air quality high is to have regular maintenance performed on your HVAC system. Few people realize that the ‘V’ in the acronym stands for ventilator. Regular maintenance keeps it working properly and circulating your home’s air.

COVID – 19 Precautions Taken in Homes and Businesses

To Our Valued Customers,

We realize that we are in a difficult and challenging time in our country’s history. As a result, our company is taking the most extreme measures to ensure the safety and good health of our customers, employees, and the people we interact with daily. We have put together a list of preventive measures we are taking with each install, service call, and preventive maintenance we are performing for the foreseeable future.

Our technicians have been trained in practicing social distancing. We are taking every precaution to sanitize tools, door handles, equipment and materials before they arrive at your home and during the installation, service, or maintenance of your HVAC equipment.

Our installers and technicians are riding in separate vehicles to your home and, as often as possible, are keeping distance between themselves and your family at a minimum of 6ft. We are also practicing these guidelines at our office with our suppliers, vendors and co-workers.

We check our employees' temperatures upon arriving at work each morning, and any employees feeling ill are staying at home for the recommended time a doctor prescribes.

Our technicians all wear gloves. We also require them to wear protective foot covers and masks. In the case masks are not available, they will use a suitable product such as a bandana.

As always, we will put down drop cloths and protect your home and belongings. Upon leaving, we will wipe down banisters, handles, and surfaces we disturbed with a qualified cleaner.

Our technicians are instructed not to shake hands or accept any water or food. Literature and homeowner guides will be left with the equipment and wiped down before leaving. Payment by credit card is preferable. Thank you in advance for adhering to these guidelines.

The following are recommendations for the customer to further help protect the health and well-being of all:

  • Designate an area of the home designated for family members, if possible, in order to avoid interaction with the crews.
  • Encourage children and elders to stay in their rooms or designated areas. Inform us if anyone needs to go up or down stairs, walk a hallway, or use the bathroom while the workers are occupying those spaces. This will give us an opportunity to relocate temporarily.
  • Do not offer drinks or food, as our technicians will provide their own and eat in their vehicles.
  • Please do not offer to leave a check or signed proposal. The office can take credit cards for payments. Please provide us with your email address for any necessary correspondence. It has been our experience that some homeowners, at their sole discretion, elect to tip our staff. Please be aware that our staff has been instructed not to accept any tips.
  • Prior to our arrival, please have any doors, hatches, or accesses propped open (weather permitting).
  • Provide contact numbers for communication in case any questions may arise with the installation/service to limit face to face conversations.
  • For your safety, please make sure that any conversations you may elect to have with our staff are conducted at the CDC recommended 6-feet of spacing.

The safety and well-being of your family and our employees is the most important thing to us. If anyone in your family has felt ill or has tested positive for Covid-19, please do not hesitate to reschedule the appointment to a recommended safe time.

Feel free to contact us with any questions or concerns.

Be safe and thank you!

Sincerely,

Paul Pavelo
